Hypnosis for Addictions

Course Overview

This Hypnosis for Addictions course is developed to prepare the hypnotherapist for managing clients with addictions. This course will help you learn to define and discuss different types and degrees of addiction. This range of issues is plagued by individuals who need help resolving the guilt, anxiety, insecurity, and fear associated with addiction. There are methods for discussing the delicate issues of self-deception. Many addicts tell themselves ‘stories’ to ‘rationalize’ their self-abuse. This  Hypnosis for Addictions course provides you with effective techniques for approaching the underlying feelings of shame, guilt, inferiority that drive any form of self-abuse without further inflaming the situation. A professional hypnotherapist must be as informed as possible when facing entrenched pattern behaviour that results in addition.

The successful hypnotherapist must not only know how to identify root causes and maintaining factors but they must also be fully equipped to help clients work through them.

This means being able to aid clients in identifying goals and digging deep within to find the motivation to change.  For addiction hypnosis focuses both on the complex psychological factors that contribute to addiction and the different approaches to motivating for change. The hypnotherapist’s role involves educating clients about the stages of change and harm reduction goals

In professional practice the hypnotherapist will develop treatment plans to work with the clients’ family and friends to increase the success rate in hypnotherapy for addiction. This Hypnosis for Addictions course provides the skills needed for developing addiction treatment plans and more advanced information regarding co-existing mental health issues such as anger, self-harm behaviour, eating disorders, chronic pain, grief, physical & sexual abuse, troubled relationships, sexual identity etc. In others words all the aspects of personality that are touched by addiction.
