While no hypnotherapist can accurately gauge what degree of success you'll experience most people experience noticeable results very quickly, many times after just the first session.
The key to the success of hypnosis hinders on two very important aspects:
1. Desire, willingness, openness and trust on the part of the client.
2. Skill, knowledge and experience of the hypnotherapist.
It's important to give yourself enough sessions with the hypnotherapist to fully allow for the process to unfold. Trying it once likely won't get you the satisfaction you're hoping for, unless of course you're going in for one of the issues that can be dealt with in just one session, like fears and phobias for example.
It's also important not to judge your results until the entire process is complete. The ego is conditioned to judge and analyze everything we do but this is not helpful for the therapeutic process, in fact it will slow down the results. It's best to just allow the process to flow as it is meant it. Understand that the hypnotherapist see's the bigger picture because of their extensive training. Do your best to show up with an open mind and be ready for change. And it's ok too if you're not fully open and ready, the hypnotherapist's job is to help you to get there.
