Number of Sessions

How many sessions you'll need to reach your goal is a hard question to answer. It is completely unique for each individual and depends upon what issue or goal you to work on.

Here is a general list of the average number of sessions you can expect for some of the more common topics. Again, this is just an average as each experience will be different per person.

Addictions
     Minor/Less Serious Addiction: 3 to 6 sessions
     Illegal/Serious Addiction: 15 sessions

Career Enhancement
     Motivation, Financial Abundance, Living on Purpose: 6 sessions (sometimes up to 12 sessions)

Clinical Issues
     Depression, OCD, PTSD, Anxiety: 6 sessions (sometimes up to 15 sessions)

Fears & Phobias
     Fear or Phobia: 1 to 3 sessions

Goal Achievement
     Increase Motivation: 1 to 3 sessions

Pregnancy
     Preparing for Childbirthing: 6 sessions      
     Fertility: 6 - 12 sessions

Smoking
     Stop Smoking: 1 to 3 sessions (sometimes up to 6 sessions)

Sports
     Improve Performance: 3 to 6 sessions

Weight Loss
     Lose Weight: 6 - 12 sessions


The best option for you is to interview several qualified hypnotherapists asking the questions we recommend in the "Finding a Qualified Hypnotherapist" section. Then once you've narrowed down your search, book a 30 minute consultation (either in person or on the phone) with the one or two you like the best. The consultation will give the hypnotherapist a good understanding of your issue and will better be able to help you determine the number of sessions required to achieve your goal.
